How do Document Templates differ from Clause Templates?

A user can create two different types of Templates in Propdocs. Both are created and managed from the Templates page.

  1. Document Templates are used as the initial base when creating a new document in a deal. When creating a document, users will be asked to select a template to start their document from. The templates which appear are the Document Templates, assisting in getting the new document started with some pre-filled content.

  2. Clause Templates are used to help and large blocks of text in to documents. Once a user has created a new document for a deal, they can insert Clause templates to that document. Clauses allow users to more easily copy in commonly used content to their documents and always have the latest team-approved language available to them.
