In virtually any kind of deal, a single transaction rarely lives in a single document. A purchase agreement comes with addendums. A lease has schedules and exhibits. An LOI references side letters. Until now, assembling these packages meant attaching PDF’s to Propdocs documents.
Today, you can link documents directly from your deal to any other document in that deal as an attachment.
How it works
Open any document in your deal and navigate to the Attachments sidebar. Click Attach Document and select Document. You’ll see every other document in the deal listed with its current status – pick one or several, hit Attach, and they’re linked. You can drag them to re-order as well.
That’s it. No uploading, no duplicating, no version confusion.
What makes this different from uploading a PDF
When you upload a PDF attachment, it’s a static file, a snapshot frozen in time. Linked document attachments are different:
- They stay connected to the live document. The attachment references the actual deal document, not a copy. If the source document is updated, the attachment reflects the current version.
- They show real-time status. Each linked attachment displays the document’s current deal status (Drafting, Reviewing, Executed, etc.), so you always know where things stand.
- They’re reorderable. Drag and drop to set the order your attachments will appear when the package is exported or sent for signing.
- You can still upload standalone PDFs alongside linked documents, both types live in the same attachments list.
Why this matters for CRE
Commercial real estate contracts are assembled, not just drafted. A typical deal might include:
- Purchase & Sale Agreement with a linked addendum for inspection contingencies
- Lease Agreement with attached schedules for rent escalation, tenant improvement allowances, and building rules
- LOI referencing a linked confidentiality agreement
Previously, these relationships existed in people’s heads or in folder structures outside the platform. Now they’re explicit, visible, and part of the document workflow. When you send a package for signing or export to PDF, your attachments are included – in the order you set.
Small feature, big unlock
This is the foundation for true document package assembly in Propdocs. Link your addendums, schedules, exhibits, and side letters directly to the primary document they support. No more emailing attachments separately. No more “see attached” without the attachment.
Every document in your deal is now a building block.
Linked Document Attachments is available now for all Propdocs users. Head to any document in a deal to try it out.
